In the modern game, which players are most respected by their peers?

We asked the players to share their opinions via a survey for AFL.com.au’s Players’ Top 50.

Almost half of the Players’ Top 50 has now been revealed, with spots 40 through to 31 unveiled this morning.

Irishman Pearce Hanley and Carlton midfielder Bryce Gibbs were amongst the new additions to be named in the list, having missed selection in the Players’ Top 50 in 2014.

Others to find their way onto the list include excitement machines Dustin Martin, Cyril Rioli and Chad Wingard, and tough midfielders Dan Hannebery, David Mundy and Nathan Jones. Experienced finals campaigners Jarrad McVeigh and Brendon Goddard round out the 10 latest players unveiled.

Interestingly, only three genuine key position players have been named in the list of 20 thus far – Travis Cloke (47), Matthew Pavlich (45) and Josh Kennedy (43).

Collingwood has the most players in the Top 50 at this point, with Steele Sidebottom (50), Dane Swan (48) and Travis Cloke (47) all named at the tail-end of the list.
