“he was clearly the best player in the competition this year” – Port Adelaide coach Ken Hinkley in 2014

Port Adelaide midfielder Robbie Gray has been voted into the top 10 of the Players’ Top 50, following an outstanding 2014 that saw him named the AFL Coaches’ Association Champion Player of the Year.

Gray kicked 42 goals and averaged 24 possessions, five clearances and three inside 50s across his 25 games last season.

The 26-year-old didn’t make the 2014 Players’ Top 50, but was widely regarded as one of the game’s elite by season’s end.

Ahead of last year’s Brownlow, Port Adelaide coach Ken Hinkley said, “we’ll see probably an interesting result Monday night, because he was clearly the best player in the competition this year.”

Thanks to everyone who entered the AFL Players’ #FridayGiveaway competition. Winners will be notified in coming days.
