Georgia on fans’ mind in AFLW MVP of the Week award

Rising St Kilda star Georgia Patrikios’ best-on-ground performance has earned her the Round 9 AFLW MVP of the Week award, proudly supported by July.

In the closest week this season, Patrikios claimed the fan-voted award with 37 per cent ahead of North Melbourne’s Ashleigh Riddell (32 per cent) and the Western Bulldogs’ Kirsty Lamb (31 per cent).

Patrikios was at her damaging best in her side’s final game for the season against West Coast, racking up a game-high 30 disposals to go along with a special goal she snapped on her right boot.

Riddell stepped up in the absence of Jenna Bruton, collecting 19 disposals to half-time and 33 touches in the Roos’ thrilling one-point win over Fremantle.

Lamb was the Bulldogs’ best player with 23 disposals, seven tackles, four clearances a goal.

The AFL Players’ Association AFLW MVP of the Week is in its fourth year and looks to recognise the AFLW’s best performers each round. Fans will get the choice to select the MVP of the Week, after three names have been put forward by the AFLPA.

All fans who vote will go into the running to win a personalised Carry Me bag from July, valued at $65. One lucky winner who votes each week will also go in the draw to win the ultimate July travel collection, including a Carry OnChecked Checked Plus bag valued at $895.
