Too easy for Bri; Pies star again claims MVP of the Week award

Nominated for the fourth time this season, Collingwood co-captain Brianna Davey has impressed the fans enough to again take home the MVP of the Week Award, proudly supported by July.

Davey took out the weekly fan-voted award for the Qualifying Finals with 50 per cent of the vote, ahead of three-time MVP of the Week winner Kiara Bowers (36 per cent) and Melbourne’s Karen Paxman (14 per cent).

Davey was at her scintillating best in a thrilling win over North Melbourne gathering 31 disposals and laying nine tackles.

Paxman and Bowers duelled it out in the other AFLW qualifying finals game, with the Demons emerging victorious.

Both players collected 20 disposals a piece, while Bowers laid a staggering 17 tackles to do all she could to keep her side in the game.

The AFL Players’ Association AFLW MVP of the Week is in its fourth year and looks to recognise the AFLW’s best performers each round. Fans will get the choice to select the MVP of the Week, after three names have been put forward by the AFLPA.

All fans who vote will go into the running to win a personalised Carry Me bag from July, valued at $65. One lucky winner who votes each week will also go in the draw to win the ultimate July travel collection, including a Carry OnChecked Checked Plus bag valued at $895.
