Youngest Selwood passes the baton

They don’t come much tougher than the Selwood clan.

With four siblings playing at the elite level in one of the hardest sports on the planet, Troy, Adam, Joel and Scott have epitomised toughness throughout their AFL careers.

But there’s another Selwood on the rise, with Troy’s young son Tom making an appearance with his favourite uncle, Scott, as an Almonds Australia ‘Hard Nut’ ambassador in an exciting campaign with the AFL Players’ Association that showcases football’s hardest nuts, and their inspiration.

In the video above, Scott talks about growing up as the youngest sibling in the Selwood household, his transition to Geelong and what family means to him.

The ambassadors of the campaign — Selwood, Max Gawn, Brianna Davey, Ellie Blackburn and Liam Picken have launched an award to encourage Australians to shine a light on the ‘Hard Nut’ in their life, as part of the organisations’ Australian Hard Nut Awards.

From those who have dedicated their life volunteering at the local footy club, to players overcoming lengthy and challenging injuries, the Awards aim to profile those otherwise not recognised on a national scale.

For your chance to win up to 10 kgs of almonds and two limited edition AFLPA white Sherrin footballs, enter here!

Along with the prizes up for grabs, the ambassadors will take the opportunity to nominate a ‘Hard Nut’ in their lives, and roast a teammate.
