All eyes were on our young AFLW stars this week, with Richmond’s Monique Conti, Port Adelaide’s Hannah Ewings and Gold Coast’s Charlie Rowbottom nominated for the Round 4 AFLW MVP of the Week award, presented by Snaffle.
Conti – already a start of the competition – led the Tigers to a two-point victory against the Bombers. With 15 possessions and nine tackles, it was her snap goal in the third quarter against the wind which secured Richmond the win.
Port Adelaide secured its maiden win of the season against the Swans, with youngster Hannah Ewings scoring one of two back-to-back goals from outside 50. If that’s not enough, Ewings also became the very first AFLW player to finish with nine clearances and three goals in one game.
Former No.1 draft pick Charlie Rowbottom shone in the midfield against St Kilda, becoming the third-youngest AFLW player to register 30 or more disposals in a match, finishing up with a game-high 30 disposals, nine tackles, and six clearances.
