AFL Coaches’ Votes – Round 6

Fremantle’s Nat Fyfe has further extended his lead atop the AFL Coaches’ Association Champion Player of the Year Leaderboard after another standout performance in the Dockers’ 28-point win over the Bombers.

The 23-year-old leads by 19 votes, having polled a further eight for his Saturday night exhibition.

Meanwhile, St Kilda midfielder David Armitage has jumped into second spot, courtesy of a best on ground performance in the Saints’ remarkable comeback win over the Bulldogs. Armitage and Geelong midfielder Mitch Duncan have both polled perfect 10s from the coaches two weeks in a row.

Fellow midfielders Dan Hannebery, Scott Pendlebury and Dylan Shiel are nipping at his heels, while Melbourne defender Tom McDonald continues to be rewarded for strong defensive performances. The 22-year-old Demon held superstar Lance Franklin goalless in his side’s 38-point loss to the Swans.

Last year’s AFLCA Champion Player of the Year winner, Port Adelaide’s Robbie Gray, was rewarded for a strong performance in the Power’s narrow loss to the West Coast Eagles.
